上川黄连胜醒狮舞

Shangchuan Huang Liansheng

Awakening Lion Dance

上川黄连胜醒狮舞是由武术家黄连胜于清末创立的传统舞狮形式。1906年，黄连胜出生于宝安区新安街道上合村，9岁师从曾超明研习武术、中医和狮舞，后赴香港传授技艺。1973年成立上川黄连胜醒狮团，衍生出8支分支队伍。表演分广场与破阵两类。2021年，上川黄连胜醒狮舞入选国家级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录，成为新安街道首个国家级非遗项目。

Shangchuan Huang Liansheng Awakening Lion Dance is a traditional lion dance style founded by martial artist Liansheng Huang in the late Qing Dynasty. Born in Shanghe Village, Xin’an Subdistrict, Bao’an District, Shenzhen in 1906, Liansheng Huang started learning martial arts, traditional Chinese medicine and lion dance under Chaoming Zeng at the age of nine. He later travelled to Hong Kong to pass on his skills. In 1973, the Shangchuan Huang Liansheng Awakening Lion Dance Troupe was established with eight branch teams. Its performances are devided into two categories: plaza shows and formation-breaking routines. In 2021, Shangchuan Huang Liansheng Awakening Lion Dance was inscribed on the National Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, marking the first national-level intangible cultural heritage item in Xin’an Subdistrict.

Zhihui Huang

黄志辉，1979年出生于深圳市宝安区，是上川黄连胜醒狮舞第四代传承人。其自幼学习醒狮舞，并于1990年加入上川黄连胜醒狮团。自2016年起，黄志辉担任上川黄连胜醒狮团领队，致力于醒狮文化的传承，推动中华优秀传统文化走向世界。

Zhihui Huang, born in Bao’an District, Shenzhen in 1979, is the 4th-generation inheritor of Shangchuan Huang Liansheng Awakening Lion Dance. He began practising the lion dance from his childhood and joined the troupe in 1990. Since 2016, Zhihui Huang has served as the troupe leader. He devotes himself to preserving the lion dance heritage and helping this traditional Chinese culture reach global audiences.
